1 Where Could I Go? John 6:66-69

2 where could I go?

3 Where does the world Go? O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. Jeremiah 10:23

4 Where does the world Go? Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” Matthew 15:14

5 Where does the world Go? “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

6 Where should Christians go?

7 Christ had to deal with those who were unwilling
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed,[a] and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

8 Christ had to deal with those who were unwilling
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” 59 These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum. 60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?” 61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?

9 Christ had to deal with those who were unwilling
62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

10 Christ had to deal with those who were unwilling
65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” 66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. John 6:53-66

11 Christ had to deal with those who were unwilling
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. John 6:66

12 Should Christians respond as peter did?
67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? John 6:67-68a

13 Should Christians respond as peter did?
You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” John 6:68b-69

14 Lessons for us today

15 Where does the Christian go?
The Christian today goes to God for everything. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16

16 Where does the Christian go?
Why does the Christian go to the Lord? “But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? 13 Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living. Job 28:12-13

17 Where does the Christian go?
Why does the Christian go to the Lord? “From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? Job 28:20

18 Where does the Christian go?
Why does the Christian go to the Lord? And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28

19 Conclusion 1. Where do you go? 2. Do you turn to God first? Or someone or something else? 3. For the Christian there should be only one place to turn.
