Turkish Educational System

Atatürk supported our educational system. He did lots of revolutions about education.

In Turkey education first starts in family. Then goes on with preschool, primary education, secondary education and higher education.

Turkish National Education System is based on two main branches: Formal Education & Mass-Media (Open University) Education. Formal Education Formal Education is an organized education through syllabuses for the same purposes at the same age group and level of students. Pre-school Education Pre-school Education is not compulsary and it covers the group of children aged between months. The ministry of education is trying to increase the number of children participating in this education system by parents training programs, mobile kindergardens, and summer school alternatives.

Primary Education Primary education covers the group of children aged between 6 –14 years old. It’s compulsary for all girls and boys, and it is free of charge at state schools. The primary education period is 8 years.
