let's play “tag”

what is a tag? A tag is a keyword or descriptive term associated with an item as means of classification by means of a folksonomy... - a collaboratively generated, open-ended labeling system that enables Internet users to categorize content such as Web pages, online photographs, and Web links.

yeh, but why? Tags help to improve search engine's effectiveness because content is categorized using a familiar, accessible, and shared vocabulary.

will it work for me? Yes! If used in combination with other content portals such as Flickr, del.icio.us, technorati and eventually apc.org.

technorati Technorati is an open source Internet search engine for searching blogs. Based on tags, “Technorati provides a live view of the global conversation of the web.”

tasting del.icio.us del.icio.us is a social bookmarking, social software web service for storing and sharing web bookmarks.

adding tags to my articles No CMS support for tags? No worries, let's add by hand:

handling tags ● Your site must be listed on Technorati. ● You create an account on Technorati. ● Get your technical person to add this code to your site: You add this to the end of all your articles: Tags: ictpolicy

adding my site to del.icio.us ● Create an account. ● Post your sites.

let's create our own folksonomy Shared, collaborative workspace
