The Pomo Who in the world are the Pomo? The Pomo Indians are a California Native American Tribe. In the summer it was not to cold not to hot. They lived in Northern California near the Pacific Ocean, along the coast and inland. They lived near lakes, streams, rivers, valleys, mountains, and rolling hills. I will tell you about the Pomo’s jobs, clothing, homes, food, celebrations, and interesting facts.

Homes Have you heard about the Pomo homes? The Pomo’s who lived near clear lake made their houses out of tule reeds bundled up. They tied the tule, to poles. It made an oval or circle shaped building. The Pomo who lived near the Russian River made their homes the same way as the Clear Lake homes but instead of tule it was made out of brush and grass.

Food Do you know what the Pomo ate? The Pomo ate seeds, nuts, fish, berries, and corn, rabbits, deer, and small animals. The Pomo worked really hard to get their food by tying 3 strings together and tying rocks at each end. They threw it at the animals to trap them.
