Session 1 Introduction to CSR What is CSR? Sustainability? What are the arguments for and against CSR? What is the business case for CSR? How would you convince a company to get serious about CSR?

Session 2 Stakeholder management Who are a company's major stakeholders? How to prioritize SH in terms of: Power, legitimacy, urgency Their ability to support and influence How to manage: see SH influence grid Managing relations with NGOs. Have expertise Have power to help and harm Partnerships with them can help a company's image

Session 3 Institutional environment Know the general types of institutions Be able to cite and describe the activities of at least two organizations involved in CSR

Session 4 CSR and strategy What is strategy? How can a company incorporate CSR into its strategy? See 7 dimensions of strategic CSR. When is a CSR initiative strategic or just an "add-on?" Which tools and methods can help a company move from strategy formulation to implementation? How is strategic philanthropy different from traditional philanthropy? Examples: Stonyfield Farm, others

Session 6 Embedding CSR in the company culture CSR and HRM How do leadership and HRM contribute to embedding a CSR attitudes and behaviors into employees? What does CSR-oriented HRM look like? Company examples?

Session 6 Socially responsible investment Are ethics and finance incompatible? Explain. What is SRI? Different types of SRI funds. Criteria used in selected SRI fund? SRI activities: Screening, shareholder activism, community investing Examples of funds and specialist banks (Tridos,…) The role of sustainability indexes (DJSI, etc.)

Session 7 CSR and the environment What are the major environmental issues for companies? (carbon mgt.,…). Tools or practical actions in managing these. How would you help a company become more eco- friendly? What arguments would you use, what actions would you recommend? Examples of green businesses

Session 8 CSR and consumers / marketing Be able to analyze how the 4 P's of marketing can be more "responsible," particularly the first 2: Product Promotion Price Place Eco-conception of productions: the cradle-to-cradle concept What are consumers' rights? Examples of all of the above

Session 9 Responsible leadership What is responsible leadership? Why is the leader key in implementing a CSR strategy? Explain and give examples. Understand the main point of trends in leadership practice: servant, authentic, spiritual leadership
