Best in Class Awards Human Capital Management Award

  Employee Handbooks   Extreme Engagement of New GASPA Member   HiQ Status   Recruitment Materials   Retention Practices   Website Development

District submissions will be their Employee Handbooks (eHandbooks or alternate formats) used to disseminate information to employees relative to district expectations, resources, operational procedures, etc. The financial resources of school districts will be considered in the selection process.

GASPA members will make nominations of new GASPA members who have demonstrated high levels of engagement in the organization. Persons making the recommendations must submit a description of the contributions made by the new member that fully outlines the basis for the recommendation.

For this purpose, a new member is defined as an individual who paid his/her first membership dues by October of the academic year prior to the recommendation. For instance, John Jones paid his first GASPA membership dues in October He is eligible for nomination as an Extremely Engaged New GASPA Member during the July 1, 2011-March 15, 2012 Best in Class Awards consideration period for his engagement in GASPA during July 1, March 15, 2012.

School districts with a Teacher HiQ status of 98% and above AND a Paraprofessional HiQ status of 100% for the FY’11 ( ) school year will be recognized for this accomplishment. TEACHERPARAPROFESSIONAL 98%100%

Districts will submit samples of their Recruitment materials. The financial resources of school districts will be considered in the selection process.

Districts will submit evidence of innovative practices implemented to retain highly effective employees.

District submissions will reflect effective leveraging of technology throughout the school district for efficient human capital management.

As compared to all other submissions, these Best in Class submissions far exceed similarly situated school districts when financial resources are considered. As compared to all other submissions, these submissions represent exemplary evidence of human capital management practices in the selected Best in Class Awards category. As compared to all other submissions, these submissions represent evidence of outstanding work in the selected Best in Class Awards category.

The administrator with oversight responsibility for Human Capital Management in his/her school district should submit the recognition award materials directly to: Dr. Reaneé Ellis (for the GASPA Awards Recognition Committee) Fayette County Public Schools 210 Stonewall Avenue, West Fayetteville, GA Submissions must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, All evidence provided to support the award consideration must have occurred/been developed or implemented at some time within the year the recognition is sought. In this instance, the relevant time period would be July 1, 2011 – March 15, 2012.

  All submissions will be considered by a review panel that will be comprised of five voting members and one alternate: A. A. The three members of the GASPA recognitions committee; B. B. One officer selected by the President; C. C. A new member (volunteer or President’s selection); D. D. An alternate non-voting member   The review panel will convene on or around the week following the due date to review all submissions and make recommendations to the President.

School districts may also compete for Human Capital Management Award at either the Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze levels. This award is designed to recognize school districts that have made an outstanding commitment to the establishment of a Standards-Based Human Capital Management Program that is reflective of and responsive to the needs of 21 st Century learners and highly qualified and highly effective personnel in the school district.

School districts will determine which level award to seek and will submit documentation in support of that level:

Due to the scope of this award, it is recommended that we delay implementation for one academic year. The first Human Capital Management Award submissions would be made during the academic year.
