The FDA is necessary and not just Bureaucratic red tape. Before the 1906 Pure Food and Drug act people were putting arsenic and other poisonous preservatives in there products. Not to mention road kill in hot dogs. Without the FDA applying pressure to Food and Drug companies to make a safe product where would we be now?
