4 Averroès: From Averroès 1 to Averroès 4 : Meeting our objectives, Developping the network Objectives: Develop students and staff ’s mobility Averroès 1 (July April 2012) : 5.2 million euros > 265 scholarships Averroès 2 (July 2009 – July 2012) : 5.2 millions euros > 295 scholarships Averroès 3 (July July 2014) : 5.2 millions euros > 320 scholarships Averroès 4 (July July 2015) : 3.2 millions euros > 225 scholarships Résults -Sept Sept.2011 : over 900 undergraduate & graduates students, Post-Doc,academic staff, selected Over applicants on line completed application files, 15% selected A large and growing network : 20 full partners (11 Maghreb Universities, 9 European). From 12 associated partners in 2008 to 73 associated partners in 2011 –( 45 universities, 5 regional authorities, 16 enterprises et 7 academic networks).

5 Averroès, a common strategy Strategy: building sustainable cooperation across the Mediterranean sea : 10 Averroès meetings : 6 Averroès seminars in Maghreb Universitie s 2009: the first centre for treating autism n Algeria with 5 Averroès graduates : 3 Averroès students get support for creating their own enterprises (PACEIM program) 2010: 90% doctoral Averroès students in joint degree & co- direction of thesis. 2010: a common Averroès Doctoral Charter

Averroès 4 : the new challenges  The aim: make of international mobility a passport to employment  develop employment « capacities » for graduates : Develop both vocationnal and technological studies Develop relations with the industrial & business sectors Develop language capacities & « soft-skills » in synergy with the Tempus DEFI Averroès Project and other projects  At undergraduate level : encourage mobility + experience autonomy & self building  In Europe : make of Maghreb an attractive study &research environment  In the Maghreb : increase the international visibility for partner universities and associate partners 6
