WHY AM I WRITING THIS LETTER? Things to think about when writing your letter: Why am I writing this letter? What will the layout of my letter look like? What do I need to include? What will the main content be? What will be the key point of each paragraph?

WHAT MIGHT BE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A FORMAL AND FRIENDLY LETTER? Writing style Slang/Formal Layout

FORMAT: 1.Writer’s name and address  Written at the top right hand corner of the letter 2.Receiver's address:  Across the page and below the writer’s address 3.Leave a line before writing the name and address of the recipient. Underline the last line of the address. 4.The date:  Written on the left hand side, along the same line as the last line of the recipient’s address. The month must be in a capital letter. 5.The Greeting:  Appears on the left hand side 6.The First Paragraph:  Not indented!!! 7.Closure:  Left hand side below your final paragraph 8.Signature  Print and sign
