Big Question What size of wheels on the mousetrap car make the mousetrap car go the and the farthest? I chose this “Big Question” because I thought it would be fun but yet difficult

Hypothesis My Hypothesis is that the large wheels on the mouse trap car will make the mouse trap car go the farthest.

Interesting facts from research The large wheels on the mousetrap car make the mousetrap car go the farthest.

Materials & Procedure Materials: 3 mousetraps. Foam board. String. Wooden dowels. 8 I inch wheels. 2 inch ½ wheels. coat hanger. Rubber cement. tape measure Pins sewing bobbins plastic drinking straws Procedure: Assemble 3 mouse trap cars , all with one inch wheels on the front . One with 1 inch back tires, one with 1 ½ inch tires , and one with 2 inch tire . line up each car on the starting line let go of the metal band. Run each car 5 times. Average each cars distance compare results to deter man which wheel size produced the farthest distance.

Control & Variables Control: 1 inch back tires Variables: 1 ½ back tires and another with 2 inch back tires

DATA……. Attempt 1 inch 1.5 inch 2 inch 1 32 40 44 2 33 46 3 30 36 4 5

Analysis of DATA….

Conclusion….. Based on my Analysis of data the bigger the tires on the mousetrap car goes the farthest.
