Fair test with a rubber band car Conclusion predictionAim Method Results

Aim To find out on what surface the car travels the fastest. Variables Materials

Variables No. of times you wind the pencil up No. of rubber bands Weight of the car Where you do the experiment Vinyl Carpet Wood Concrete grass Back

Materials Corrugated cardboard A pair of very sharp scissors(or craft knife) PVA glue Cello tape Ruler Useless pencils A pencil (for drawing) rubber bands Back

Prediction We think the car will travel the fastest on the wooden floor.

Method 1. We made the car 2. We winded it up 4 times 3. We let it run on grass, carpet, concrete, wood, vinyl

Results SURFACEDISTANCE IT TRAVLLED Vinyl 99cm Carpet214cm Wood151.5cm Concrete209cm Grass40cm

Conclusion The car needs just enough amount of friction to travel longest distance. For an example, on wooden floor which had the least friction, the wheel didn’t actually push the floor properly and didn’t move so far. In contrast, grass has way too much friction and didn’t let the car move far. Credits
