To show off what you have learned. To show what a great leader you are. To demonstrate your knowledge in Science and/or Technology. To participate in an academic competition.

An opportunity to create something new. An opportunity to win an award. An opportunity to advance to the regional or state competition. To provide you with a new and exciting experience.

Awards will be given in each category and grade level. Any one that has completed all of the requirements has the chance to advance to the regional and/or state fair.

On the day of the fair all students who have a log book and a professional display will be bused from EJMS to the Jefferson Civic Center. Before you board the buses, your teacher will give you a specific number code, which will be the area and table you will set up your display. Upon arrive at the Civic Center, there will be people there to help you set up. You will also have the opportunity to walk around and explore some ‘way-cool’ science activities that will be set up for you.

Creating the display to show off your work is the fun part! The display board should look professional. Your log book should be placed in front of the display so that the judges can read your work. The next several side show examples of what a display might look like.

A ll projects will be judged by 2-3 different judges. All projects will be judged based on the criteria of the grading rubric. Your teacher has given you a copy of this rubric. This will give you an idea of what is expected before you begin to design your display board.

All students that have a display at the Science Exposition are to report to their display at 5:45 on January the 16 th. You should stand next to your project during the duration of the gallery walk. You should be prepared to answer any questions that a teacher or guest may have about your project. You should be dressed in a professional manner. You should not talk to other students during the gallery walk. You should not be texting or talking on the phone during the gallery walk. You should smile and stand straight during the gallery walk.

The award ceremony will begin at 7:00 in Ballroom A/B. You and your family should attend the ceremony. This is when all winners will be announced.

All students are expected to take their projects down at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.

During the award ceremony, we will announce the students that will advance to the Regional Fair. If you are one of the selected students that will advance to the Regional Fair, you will take your project back to the school and display the project in the Media Center. You will receive paperwork to complete and specific instructions at a later date.
