TIPEIL - DISSEMINATION MEETING (fr) EXPERIMENTATION Francesco Rappoccio Francesco Rappoccio

The experimentation of the digital portfolio Profile of the identified operators: N. 2 teachers of CFP (Professional Training Center) Target: N. 2 young men (18 years old) who attend the CFP Duration: December March 2009

Methodology with the operators First interview 1)Introduction to the digital portfolio: it helped the interviewed to understand what a digital portfolio is. 2 ) It helped the tutor/ interviewer to know the operator and CFP.

The following interviews were realized/ usuful to……. -identify an available person for the realisation of the digital portfolio. -explain the importance of being in possess of materials such as certificates, pics, video etc in order to realize a good digital portfolio. -create a “working alliance”

What about the 2 young men……..

The participants two young men aged 18 years A) He is a sporty young man, open minded, sociable, with many hobbies and interested in the web community to meet new friends B) He is a shy young man with light cognitive disabilities; a reserved person that devotes his free time to his dog, listening to the music, playing with Playstation.

Experience of the operators as regards the portfolio concept Interviews are been typically thought as one of the most stressful aspect of this experimentation. TAKE THE STRESS OUT OF INTERVIEWING!!!!!!

Methodology How many meetings? 4- 8 per person How? face to face after lessons time The operators reported on a form created by us step by step, telephone help and face to face meetings…..

Strenghts and weaknesses points Strenghts points: “food for thought” on their owns abilities and competences, implementation of the level of self-understanding, organisation of the material certifying their competences

Weaknesses points Technical problems with video insertion Difficulty in explaining the difference between non formal and informal learning to the participants

Impact on the participants Young man A) participation and enthusiasm from the student and his family Young man B) Initially concern and fear to be judged in a negative way then involvement and active participation

Conclusions Importance of a new methodology for the evaluation of non formal and informal competences. The recognition of these competences can facilitate the job research: both the participants will use the portfolio for job application together with their CV.
