How To Use Our Test To use this training presentation, simply click your space bar to move to the next frame.

Advnt developed the BADD™ product line to be extremely simple to use - while providing you with sensitivity and specificity unmatched by any other rapid test available today - PERIOD! Easy to use - results in as little as 3 minutes Accurate results with excellent detection capabilities Anthrax detection below an infectious dose No expensive equipment or electronic readers required Results in minutes No cross-reactivity to bacillus globigii or Bacillus Thuringensis No false positives or false negatives Positively evaluated by the DOD, Ministry of Defense UK, WIS Germany Training Facilities include Dugway Proving Grounds, DHS and Defence R&D Canada

For the purpose of this training exercise, we will be using the BADD™ simulation/trainer device. The performance of the simulation/trainer is identical to our tests - with one exception. The simulation test utilizes a simulation card. The card has a food protein imbedded on the + inside the circle to your right. The card and the protein is designed to mimic a suspicious powder or liquid.

Everything you need to perform our test is included in each kit. No collection kits or additional materials required. The BADD kits are color coded and labeled to provide quick and easy identification. Color coded BADD kits can also be used to confirm the Advnt ProStrips multi detection kit.

Getting Started Place the labeled silver pouch in front of you. Tear the pouch open - a small cut is notched for your convenience.

Remove contents of foil pouch and place in front of you. Open the white pouch only when your ready to perform the test. Getting Started

Each Simulation/Trainer kit will include the following: 1- 3x5 pouch which includes one test a desiccant pouch and a simulation card 1- Instruction sheet 1- Buffer/Swab/Dropper bottle Remember, to use the large re-sealable foil pouch as a biohazard bag. Return all used materials back to the foil pouch and re-seal. Getting Started

The test device should be placed in front of you with the “C” and “T” towards the top and the small round sample well to your right as shown above. Preparation Sample Window

Unscrew the cap from the diluent/buffer tube. While removing the swab, rub the foam tip against the inside walls to extract excess liquid then remove the swab completely. Preparation

Swab the suspect material or contaminated area carefully. Collect as much material as possible by swirling or rolling the swab between our fingers. In the case of this demonstration, Rub the + or - sign on the Simulation Card for 5-10 seconds Place the Simulation card in front of you as shown Choose to perform either a positive or negative test. With the moisten swab - Rub the + or - sign for 5-10 seconds Preparation

Return the swab and collected sample back to the diluent tube. Tighten the cap and gently shake the tube for approximately 5 seconds. Preparation

Remove the clear cap from the tip of the diluent tube and set it to the side. Using your thumb break off the tip of the purple top and discard. The tube now becomes a dropper for dispensing the sample onto the test device. Performing the test

Invert the tube to a 45 degree angle and SLOWLY add 5 to 6 drops to the sample well. DO NOT add more than 6 drops. Return the clear cap back to the dropper and set it to the side. Performing the test

As the test begins to work - you will to see a reddish color begin to migrate across the testing window. Performing The Test

As this color continues to move across the test window - you will notice a faint line beginning to form under the letter “C” - this is the control line. The control line tells you that the test is working correctly - This is the only line that will appear if you chose earlier to run a negative test from the sim card. If you chose earlier to run a positive test - A second line will be begin to appear under the “T” - this is the test line. Performing The Test

Understanding The Results Invalid One line present at the Test line Is an invalid test no lines present after performing the test is also invalid Positive Two lines present in the result window Is a positive test Negative One line present at the control line is a negative test - it also tells you the test is working properly Results may appear in as little as 3 minutes, with a maximum run time of 15. With all our tests -Do not read the results after 15 minutes.

Completion With the test complete and the results documented - return all of the testing materials to the re- sealable foil pouch and zip closed.

Finished The Chain of Custody label is not included in the training kits. However, we show it here to inform you that it is included in all of Advnt’s actual Biowarfare test kits. Complete the Chain of Custody label, remove the backing, and seal it over the foil pouch opening with the perforated portion folded over the top as shown. The pouch is now ready to send to the lab for confirmation You may choose to place this pouch into an additional biohazard bag depending on your protocols.
