(Put the titles of both stories and their authors here) A Fairy Tale, Folk Tale, or Legend Comparing and Contrasting Project By (put both of your names here)

In this slide show, you will compare and contrast the two stories you read in our “Twice Told Tales” unit. First, click on “file” and then “save as”. Remember to change the name of the file and put it where your teacher tells you to on the server. On each slide, the information in parentheses tells you what information to put on each slide. Delete the words in parentheses and type in the information from the stories you read. Go to the next slide and begin entering your information.

Main Characters (Title of Story 1) (Names of Main Characters) (Name of main character) is (characteristic) because (finish the sentence) (Title of Story 2) (Names of Main Characters) (Name of main character) is (characteristic) because (finish the sentence)

Setting (Title of Story 1 here) (Describe the setting) (Title of Story 2 here) (Describe the setting)

Three Important Plot Events (Title of Story 1) (List 3 important plot events. Do not retell the whole story)

Three Important Plot Events (Title of Story 2) (List 3 important plot events. Do not retell the whole story)

The Lessons Learned The main idea or lesson from (story 1) is (type in the rest of the sentence.) The main idea or lesson from (story 2) is (type in the rest of the sentence.)

More or Less Alike? We think that (story 1) and (story two) are (more alike) or (more different) because We think this because (give at least three reasons)

Story Elements (In this unit, we have been learning about the elements of Fairy Tales, Tall Tales and Legends. Using what you have learned in this unit, what generalization can you make about this genre? Think about the main characters, the settings, the plots, or the main ideas of all of the stories you read.)

Now that you have completed filling out all of the information, you can add backgrounds and graphics to your presentation. You may choose a design template or a background effect. You may add graphics from the graphics files. Remember, your graphics should relate to the information in the slide. (if your story is about mice and cats, you should not have a graphic of pencil sharpeners.) You may experiment with slide transitions. You can find them under slide show. After you have checked with your teacher, print out the slide show in notes pages.
