I'm going to tell you about Easter!!

Palm Sunday What is Palm Sunday? The Sunday before Easter is known as Palm Sunday. It celebrates Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem for the Jewish festival of Passover. Great crowds of people lined the streets waving palm branches to welcome him. The people were very excited. They spread branches on the road – and even laid down their clothes. They shouted 'Hosanna!' which means 'Save us Now!' We wave our UK flags at parades. They waved palm branches. Easter was the day when Jesus arrived and people shouted Hosanna!

Maundy Thursday What is Maundy Thursday? Maundy Thursday - also called Holy Thursday, is the beginning of the three day celebration of Easter and is when Jesus died ! WOW!

Shrove Tuesday In England, Shrove Tuesday is Pancake Day because it is the one day of the year when almost everyone eats a pancake. What is Pancake Day? Pancake Day is the last day before the period which Christians call Lent. It is traditional on this day to eat pancakes. I like chocolate and sugar on mine !!!

How people celebrate Easter today !! Easter egg hunts, Go to church services and sing songs, And think about Jesus rising from the dead ! The chocolate egg stands for the empty tomb/cave !!

Last supper O n this day, Christians remember the Last Supper. During the meal Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples. Christians continue to share bread and wine as part of their worship in church. Jesus shared bread and wine on the Passover as a symbol of his blood and body!!

Thank you for watching !!!!!!!!!! By Issy and Liberty Happy Easter everyone!!
