I think when some people do this gesture, they may think that you are doing something very well, for example you got a great score in your test, your teacher will show you this gesture and that means she or he is praising you. 金企三乙 徐于岳

I know this gesture has many kind of means in different country, I n Taiwan, we use it when we want to say no problem. But in Japan, people do it means money, especially change. In France, it means zero or worthless.

We often use this gesture when we are taken in a picture, and we also do it when we feel excited, for example when our team win the basketball game, we do this gesture showing our happy, and tell everybody the victory is ours.

This gesture is opposite to the thumbs up, it means your performance is poor. You can see it when you are playing video game with your friend and you always lose the game, and then they will show you this gesture.

You do it when you want to enhance your confidence, use it to cheer yourself,or you can use it to show other people your power when some people make you angry or what, do this gesture will scare them.

People always do this gesture when they try to stop something, when the teacher feels it is to loudly in the classroom or when you are in a ball game, and the referee want you to stop doing anything.
