The Interpretation for Body Language 金融與國際企業學系 497752167 高嘉甫 (Frank)

OK Sign This gesture has different means in different country. In Taiwan, we use this gesture to show that there’s no problem and we can complete it. But in Australia, it means ''zero'' rather than OK. In Germany, it usually means job well done but it can be a very grave insult. The meaning depends on the region

Thumbs Up I think this gesture means that you do something very well. For example, you accomplish your job perfectly and your boss may use this gesture to appraise you. But, this gesture is also an obscene gesture in Bangladesh, Iran, and Thailand.

Thumbs Down The means of this gesture is opposite to thumbs up, it means your behavior is so bad or I don’t approve your action. When we watch a baseball game and the performance of player is so poor, we would use the gesture to show our dissatisfaction.

Peace Sign We use this gesture to show our happiness when we are taken picture. We also use the gesture when we can’t help showing our excitement. For example, we would use the gesture to show our happiness when the preferred team get the champion.

Stop We use the gesture to show the means of stop. We can see the police officer uses the gesture to direct the traffic and let cars stop.

Clenched Fist We use this gesture to show our decision that we particularly accomplish the goal. We also use the gesture to cheer us up or encourage others.
