World War II

The Start of WWII World War II started when Neville Chamberlain (the British prime minister) agreed with Adolf Hitler (the German leader) that there was not going to be any more invading countries. But Hitler took no notice and invaded Poland!

Hitler’s Rise in power Hitler then invaded many more countries. The Nazi’s,as they are known as, were helped by Japan and Italy. The whole of Europe was nearly the Germans for the taking!

The Holocaust Horrifically Hitler killed millions of people, but mostly Jewish people! He killed them by gassing them in gas showers and the Jewish people didn’t even know. Hitler also killed Polish people and people with disabilities! He killed around six million Jewish people, that’s about a ninth of the people living in England today!

The Birkenau Crematorium

In some concentration camps the people had to wear uniforms. They looked like striped pyjamas. People had their heads shaved!

The End of WWII After all this Hitler eventually committed suicide but... The war was not over yet as Japan were still fighting. Finally Japan surrendered so the Allies won World War II!
