2 1 What is Blitzkrieg? Germans would strike lightning-quick with tanks, troops and airplanes leading to quick victory over its enemies.

4 3 What was the first territory that Germany took over? Rhineland

5 4 What was the Munich Pact? After Hitler demanded the Sudetenland, British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlin met with German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler to agree that Hitler will no longer be aggressive.

14 13 What was the Cash and Carry Policy? The U.S. will sell goods to our allies but they had to pay in cash and take them back to Europe on their own.

15 14 What was the Lend Lease Act? The U.S. was willing to let our allies borrow supplies they needed to fight in the war but expected payment later.

16 15 What was the goal of these two policies? They were how the United States tried to support the Allied powers while trying to appear neutral

18 17 Why did the Japanese forces attack Pearl Harbor? The U.S. stopped trading oil and natural resources with Japan.

19 18 What event got America involved in WWII? The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor

20 19 Why did Hitler want access to North Africa? Control of the Suez Canal & Middle Eastern Oil

21 20 Why was the Battle of Stalingrad so important to the Allies? Considered the turning point in the war by many, this difficult battle between the Soviet Union and German forces was a devastating loss for German forces and allowed the Soviets to march toward Germany.

23 22 What was Island Hopping? The American strategy in the Pacific campaign, intended to avoid conflict with the Japanese and get closer to the mainland of Japan.
