Description Solar panels can be used to collect heat from the sun to capture its heat and transfer it for water and space heating in buildings. Commonly such panels are positioned to maximize absorption of heat from the sun throughout the day. Using direct solar power involves only one step in transforming it to useable energy. What does PV stand for? PV stands for Potential Vortices. What are the cells made from? The cells are made from energy.

First, sun rays hit the parabolic mirrors –Focuses the rays to a black pipe that contains transfer fluid which heats up to very high temperatures. Transfer fluid is then circulated –Heat from the fluid is transferred to water which produces steam. Steam is converted into mechanical energy. –Turns turbine which is connected to a conventional generator. ELECTRICITY IS PRODUCED!

The energy and heat from the sun is free and unlimited. Solar power is non-polluting. Solar power usage does not emit any greenhouse gases or harmful waste.Solar power is perfect and saving for power generation in remote areas or where the cost of expansion utility grid is high. Solar power system requires very little maintenance and last for many years

Cost of equipment Requires large space to be efficient Efficiency of solar panels affected by placement Needs the sun

In the US, Solar power is best used in the South West. –California, Nevada Gets the most sunlight/heat in the US. Best Spots of Solar Potential –Northern & Southern Africa, Australia Climate: Hot and Sunny

Installing solar panels is a great way to cut down individual contribution on global warming and dependence on non-renewable energy sources. The cost of installing solar panels may be high initially, but it covers up with the savings made in the long run. is approximately $30-40,000 for a single family house. $6-10 per watt every year t take 5 years to save the electricity money it uses to put in the solar panels. And you can sell your extra electricity to the company. Installing solar panels is a great way to cut down individual contribution on global warming and dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
