Solar Energy! Created by: Miranda Hager, Eden Campbell, Brooklyn Burkes, and Miles Jackson. This power point will explain the positive and negative things about solar energy, where solar energy works best, how solar power works, and the price of this energy.

Negatives of solar energy It is a very expensive process that can be a bad decision. You may need to buy more than one solar panel depending on the size your house.

Positives of solar energy Solar power reduces the use of energy. Solar heaters do not pollute the air at all. Solar water heaters offered the largest potential savings with solar water heaters saving as much as 50% to 85% annually on their utility bills over the cost of heating.

How Solar Power Creates Electricity? The suns waves hit a photovoltaic cell and excites the electrons within layers of the cell. The excited electrons jump back and forth, creating electricity. The electric current generated by PV cells is direct current or the type of current used in batteries.

How Solar Energy Creates Heat? In an Indirect system is a simple pump that moves the anitfreeze solution through a loop into the solar collector, through the collector's pipes, and out of the solar collector. Then, the sun-warmed antifreeze solution flows into a heat-transfer unit where it warms the cool water heading into a conventional hot water tank. Which makes heat.

Where Solar Energy operates Best  Solar energy can not just work anywhere.  It will not work in places like Washington, Oregon, Montana and other northern states.

The sunny side of things  In order to get the best result out of solar energy, you must have it in places that receive a lot of sunlight.  Many people agree that Nevada, Utah, Arizona, part of California and Texas are the best places for sunlight use.

SOLAR ENERGY Solar panels start around $100 A 1,000 watt grid- tied will cost around $10,000 In a sunny climate you can get enough power to run a 100w light bulb from just one square meter of a solar panel

SOLAR ENERGY Solar panel building cost around 10 million dollars They produce a hundreds kilowatts of power Hawaii put solar panels on 12 of their state buildings that cost more than 50 million dollars
