5 My physical Self We live in a physical world. Though only one part of us, we are most aware of our physical bodies. So, what is the body? Menu

6 The body is a house The home of the mental, emotional and spiritual parts of us. Behavior is controlled by thoughts and emotions. The body’s existence is relatively short. Its condition is determined by diet, exercise, disease and trauma. The body is important, but is it the most important part of a person? Menu

7 Are we Here by chance? Understanding how we got here and why is fundamental to knowing what and who we are. Did we evolve from lower forms of life? Given enough time and the natural drive to survive, can life spring from non-life? Could the complexity and design of the universe come from nothing? Could we and the universe be products of chance? 8 We either evolved OR are a product of Intelligence. In the last 30 years, advances in molecular biology, cybernetics, mathematics and computer technology challenge Darwin’s macro theory of evolution. 9 There are 20 amino acids in a single living cell. Sequences of amino acids form proteins. The simplest cell has over 1,000 different proteins, many with DNA chains. 21 Why Care for My Body? It is my physical house. It was made by God for His purpose. It acts as instructed by my thoughts and emotions. It houses my spirit which has an eternal destiny. It deserves proper care so it can serve and accomplish effectively. Menu
