Intermediate 1/ 2 PE Skills & Techniques Lesson 7

Aim of Today’s Lesson Recap the different types of feedback. Learn how to give effective feedback. Revise our weakest areas of Skills and Techniques and give our classmates feedback.

Feedback Feedback is information you receive on your performance. You can receive feedback in different forms.

Why is feedback important? Allows you to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Understanding your strengths and weaknesses allows you to alter your performance to make it more effective. Receiving praise builds a performers confidence.

What types of feedback have you received on your performance during PE?

How to give effective feedback tesize/pe/analysis/1_analysis_observ ation_act.shtml tesize/pe/analysis/1_analysis_observ ation_act.shtml Watch the following video. Listen carefully to information discussed about feedback.

Things to remember when giving feedback... It must be positive. Positive feedback focuses on what you did well and suggests how you can develop further. Don’t give to much information. This will only confuse the learner. Give feedback as soon as possible. This will allow changes to be made straight away. Feedback should be motivational.

Homework Due on Thursday 4 th March What is feedback? Give two different types of feedback and the ways in which you can receive these types of feedback. What four things should you remember when giving a learner feedback?

Revision Task Work with the person sitting next to you. Choose one question from the list that you will find hardest to answer. Write an answer for your chosen question. Speak to your ‘expert’ who will give you feedback and help you understand the area. (Experts should remember how to give effective feedback & can use their jotters to assist with feedback).

Skills and Techniques Revision Questions Describe a skill that was a weakness in your performance. How did you gather data on your weakness? Describe a series of practices you used to develop your weakness. Why were these practices appropriate? How did improving your weakness help your overall performance?
