Digital Exclusion – alive ‘n’ well 37% of UK adults have a smartphone (expected to reach 50% around June 2012) 64% of ABC1s own a smartphone Smartphone users have a stronger relationship with their phone than standard mobile phone users (37% saying they are ‘addicted’) Nearly 50% of teenagers (12-15yrs) have a smartphone and 60% of them say they are addicted 69% of smartphone owners surf the internet – 41% regularly One third of adult smartphone users say accessing their internet on their phone is more important than internet on any other device (biased to towards younger people and the socio demo group C2) year olds are significantly more likely to surf the web via a smartphone than other age groups
