3 QI Secondary Team A period of transition so minimal changes to current school allocations. Liz Gray, acting secondary team manager; Dave McKee QIO Technologies (temp post) and continues as Digital Learning Team leader; Ann Robertson backfilling Liz’s QIO post; Joyce Rochford continuing as Senior Phase DO and SQA link Whole QI team undertaking activity analysis as part of the Bold programme and initial discussions on locality working under way.
4 Key Strategic Priorities Attainment : Continue to close the attainment gap and raise attainment and achievement for all groups including the lowest 20% and LAC. Positive destinations, numeracy, RAFA – Raising Attainment for All Curriculum : Continue to implement and revise CfE across the 4 contexts of learning 3-15, in light of Education Scotland key inspection findings, and the local authority review of the Broad General Education, in order to ensure progression, increase pace and the development of skills. STEM, DYW, 1+2 Languages, 2 hours quality PE Pedagogy : Ensure appropriate challenge, appropriateness of activities to meet the needs of all children and deliver high quality learning activities to ensure all needs are met (5.3). 6 SQIP - Timescales School improvement plans are expected to be in place for the beginning of the session. S & Q reports are expected to be complete draft in secondary schools by June. These will be collected as accurate documents at the end of September.
7 Operational Updates Network dates for 2015/16: Neighbourhood Afternoons The date for the next Friday Neighbourhood afternoon is 22 May - to be organised at Neighbourhood level. DYW funding will be distributed soon. NB An additional 40k from the total funding is being allocated to special schools so other schools will receive slightly less than originally indicated. Funding to support the implementation of the Nationals Scottish government funding of 66k allocated to Edinburgh which will be distributed to schools on the same basis as previously. Plan is that there be centrally organised IS morning for all teachers in October on AH and H on the same model as the last 2 years.
8 Operational Updates Collecting CfE Levels As with last year, you are asked to enter Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) levels for into your school’s SEEMiS Tracking and Monitoring (T&M) module by Friday, 29 May This information will be collected from your school’s T&M system by staff at Waverley Court w/c 1 June For each pupil in stages S1-S3, CfE levels using Developing, Consolidating or Secure should be entered into your T&M system module for each of the following areas: - Languages (an overall Curriculum Area level) - Reading - Writing - Mathematics (an overall curricular area)
