Lesson 3.6

 Today in class, I will…  Identify and apply the organizing elements of compare and contrast.  Analyze textual evidence about choices and consequences and record commentary in a double-entry journal.

 Use the Think-Pair-Share strategy to answer the essential questions.  How can sibling relationships be difficult?  Why are sibling relationships important?

 Responses could include the following:  Questions about things you don’t understand  Opinions about characters or plot events  Connections you make to real life or other texts  Predictions about how characters will react  Inferences about why characters are saying or doing things.

 Individually read pages in the novel, Tangerine.  Complete the your double-entry journal based on what your read in this section.

 Record how Joey and Mike interact with each other and how Paul and Erik interact with each other.  Each group will be assigned a piece of the chart to complete and we will share and record the remaining boxes as a class.
