Bott is a crew chief with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade's aviation combat element, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The 3rd MEB is supporting the government of the Philippines’ ongoing relief efforts by providing supplies and airlift capabilities for citizens affected by Typhoon Haiyan. GUIUAN, Republic of the Philippines- Philippine citizens offload relief supplies from an MV-22B Osprey at Guiuan Air Field Nov. 18 during Operation Damayan. The Osprey provides a unique aspect to this operation due to its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, and its ability to convert quickly to fixed wing configuration, giving it increased speed and range. The Osprey, with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade's aviation combat element, III Marine Expeditionary Force, is supporting the government of the Philippines’ ongoing relief efforts by providing supplies and airlift capabilities for citizens affected by Typhoon Haiyan. VILLAMOR AIR BASE, Republic of the Philippines— Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, U.S. service members and medical personnel from Makati Medical Center, lift an injured victim of Super Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda into an ambulance Nov. 18, at Villamor Air Base. Since the storm struck the Philippines, the U.S. military has been working with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to transport a majority of the now homeless citizens to the air base at large quantities each day. The injured personnel who are transported to the air base are given immediate medical attention and if needed, transported to the Makati Medical Center nearby.
