2 | ECS-L TEST – FLOW CHART ECS-L Test Preparation Insert SIM in to MODEM Connect SAM1.5 to ECS-L Inter Connect the 2 RS232 Ports of ECS-L Inter connect 2 RS485 Ports of ECS-L Power up ECS-L with or without SAM1.5 ECS-L Test Set- up Configure ECS-L with test Configuration Configure Test Server IP address. ECS-L Test with Server Server Auto detects communication from new ECS-L unit and IP Address Server runs test scrip to check the following: ECS-L Serial Number Communication between the 2 RS232 ports Communication between the 2 RS485 ports Generate and a PDF test certificate to predefined list of addresses. If test was successful or not and ECS-L is working correctly or not. Configure ECS-L with Vodacom Config If test is unsuccessful and ECS-L is not working a test certificate will be issued indicating the part of the test that failed Print out Test Certificate and Power Down unit and Package with Test Certificate Do fault Finding Repair fault Repeat process Test Fail Test Pass

13 | HOW TO TEST SAM COMMUNICATION SAM Training Pre Test Instructions:: 1.Make sure Communication cable is connected between communication controller and SAM. 2.Make sure communication cable is connected between PC and communication controller 3.Make sure PC IP address is within range of the communication controller – only applicable with the ECS(E1/Ethernet) communication controller. Open the SAM ECT 1.Select TCP 2.Insert the IP address of the communication controller 3.Insert the applicable port number, usually 301 or Click on OK and communication will commence. NOTE : If this is a SAM2 unit not running on V3.03 firmware it will be necessary to log into the SAM2 unit using an RS232 cable to enable “RS485” on the SAM2 unit.

14 | HOW TO TEST ACCESS CONTROL COMMUNICATION SAM Training Pre Test Instructions:: 1.Make sure Communication cable is connected between communication controller and the Access Controll. 2.Make sure communication cable is connected between PC and communication controller 3.Make sure PC IP address is within range of the communication controller – only applicable with the ECS(E1/Ethernet) communication controller. Open the Access Control ECT 1.Select TCP 2.Insert the IP address of the communication controller 3.Port Number is set to 301 as a default 4.Click on Connect and the Logon and communication will commence Test. 5.Click on “Open Door” 6.Click on “Get Version 7.Click on “Get Time” 8.Click on “Log off”
