Welcome to our Back to school Morning

Benchmark School “Learning for All” OUR BELIEFS…  ALL CHILDREN CAN LEARN AND EXPERIENCE SUCCESS HOW…  Differentiated instruction in math, reading, writing and science  Interventions and progress monitoring for students who are not on grade level  Accelerated learning and progress monitoring for students who exceed standards  Using data to plan and revise instruction

Why Ashton School?  Ashton School has a focus on student learning and differentiated instruction  Ashton School has a culture of collaboration and teamwork  Ashton School holds itself accountable for results

What are our expectations?  Work in partnerships focused on student learning needs  Develop products including differentiated curriculum units  Analyze student work and document patterns of learning  Report findings to key audiences including Curriculum Standing Committee and School Committee

What will be some of the resources and support available?  Increased level of support for all students by special education staff  Increased level of support for students reading below grade level by reading specialist  Increased level of support for students who exceed the standards by enrichment staff (expanding curriculum)  Increase level of support for teachers through common planning time (professional development, share resources, etc)

What will be some of the resources and support available?  Early intervention and early identification of students performing below grade level in primary grades (KINDERGARTEN)  Pro-active approach to Special Education referral process to provide support to “all” students  “ASK” team is set up to do interventions, data collection, data analysis and progress monitoring
