5 “Filled With The Spirit” VS “Baptized With The Spirit” Some who were “filled with the Spirit” but not “baptized with the Spirit” –John the baptizer from womb (Lk. 1:13-15) –Elizabeth (Lk. 1:41) –Zecharias (Lk. 1:67) YET THE ADULT JOHN SPOKE OF HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM AS SOMETHING IN THE FUTURE (LK. 3:16)

7 FIGURATIVE BAPTISM WHY DO WE KNOW IT IS? –SPIRIT IS A PERSON “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (JN. 14:26; cf. HEB. 1:3) –A PERSON IS NOT LITERALLY POURED OUT (ACTS 2:17, NOTE “OF”) HE

13 FACTS TO OBSERVE FROM ACTS 10 HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM DIDN’T NEGATE ONE’S RESPONSIBILITY TO BE BAPTIZED WITH WATER HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM DID NOT OCCUR IN WATER BAPTISM HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM DIDN’T HAPPEN AFTER THEY ACCEPTED THE FULL GOSPEL MESSAGE (NOTE: “AS I BEGAN TO SPEAK” ACTS 11:15) HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM DIDN’T SAVE ANYONE FROM THEIR SINS

14 WHY DID PETER COMMAND THEM TO BE BAPTIZED IN WATER? BECAUSE, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (MK. 16:16) BECAUSE, “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” (HEB. 5:9)
