Presentation transcript:

 Biodiversity is all the living things on our planet.  Here are some examples, plants, animals and insects.  We should nurture and care for our planet as it is so important to us.  Animals give us food to eat and plants and smaller animals feed the larger animals.  Biodiversity is like a big cycle of life and nature.  In schools people on green schools committee's and everyone else should care for biodiversity around their schools.

 In my school we have a green schools committee. We watch out for what birds visit our school.  We fill the bird house with seeds every Wednesday. Also our green schools meetings are on Wednesdays.  In our green schools meetings we talk about, labelling trees and putting in a bird house.

 Biodiversity is very important so we must keep our environment clean and do what ever we can to keep it bio diverse.  We should recycle when ever we can by putting bottles and plastic into bottle banks when ever you can.  In many different poor countries people from primary schools all over the world raise money to send over farm animals such as cows, sheep and chickens so that we can help poor countries to be bio diverse just like us.

 In hot countries like Africa there is tropical rainforests and most animals and plants love the tropical plants and water.  Forests are home to many many animals and plants. Animals such as cheetahs snow leopards and many more.  In many other jungles there are bears living near to the lakes so they can hunt for their prey. Such as fresh fish and other types of sea creatures.

 Biodiversity is about all the living things on the planet.  Sea creatures are also a part of Biodiversity and it is very important that we treat under sea creatures the same as we would treat normal animals.  Its also very important that we treat animals and plants on school grounds well and protect them as they are so important to our environment.  The things we can do to help Biodiversity on our school grounds is water plants, weed the flower beds and we can keep them tidy. We have grown a meadow area and we are starting log piles for the insects to live in. We have feeders around our school to attract the birds.

 I think in every school they should have a green schools committee to take notes on what goes on in the school. Taking care of school environment and keeping it green is very important.  We should be leaving out bird tables and we should be filling them up twice or three times a week.

 I hope you enjoyed the project.  By Amy Heelan.

 What is Biodiversity ?  What do you think we can do for Biodiversity in our school?  Can you name any plants around the school ?  What did you learn about Biodiversity ?  Can you name any birds you seen at home or in school ?  Can you name any wild flower that you seen ?
