N2 Engine N2 at ground idle power should not be greater than 2% split. If N2 is 57% or less with an OAT of - 20° C or colder, do not accelerate above idle.

Continuous Ignition must be used during the following: Takeoffs and landings on Contaminated runways. Takeoffs with high crosswind components > 10 knots. Flight through moderate or heavier intensity rain. Flight through moderate or heavier turbulence. Flight in the vicinity of thunderstorms.

APU If both engines are to be started using the APU bleed air, then the operating engine’s thrust most not exceed 70% N2. EICAS display cooling is not available when the battery bus is powered and the normal AC power is off or when the battery bus is powered and the APU is in proper service configuration (SERVICE CONFIGURATION indications are displayed on AC ELECTRICAL page).

APU The APU, PWR FUEL switch/light must be selected off between each APU start. The APU, PWR FUEL should be firmly pressed only once. If pressed twice, an immediate shutdown may occur. Maximum 60 seconds below 50% rpm (refer to APU starter limitation). 99% rpm +4 seconds (approximately) – AVAIL light illuminates.

APR Automatic Performance Reserve (APR) must be used if takeoff performance is predicated upon the use of APR. The APR system must be selected off, if an “APR INOP” caution message is displayed on EICAS. APR OFF Performance must be used if an APR INOP caution message is displayed. The APR system must be selected OFF for takeoff, and APR OFF performance must be used, if the ambient temperature is -18° C and below, and pressure altitude is less than 1,000 feet (3A1 engines only)

Cockpit Engine Oil Level Indication System The engine oil level must be checked within 3 minutes to 2 hours of every engine shutdown. The engine oil level panel is used with the engines not running. Erroneous indications will occur if utilized during any other condition, as stated above.

Oil Replenishment System If use of the oil replenishment system is required, then the engine(s) should be replenished within 15 minutes to 2 hours after engine shutdown. Maximum refill allowable is 2 US quarts without dry motoring the engine. If the system has to be replenished to maximum capacity and the replenishment period has been exceeded, the engine(s) must be dry motored.

Thrust Reversers Thrust reversers are approved for ground use only. Do not attempt a go-around maneuver after deployment of the thrust reversers. Takeoff with any of the following thrust reverser lights on, icons, or EICAS messages displayed is prohibited: -THRUST REVERSER UNLK Light. - REV icon is displayed on N1 guage. - L or R REV UNLOCK caution message is displayed. During landing, application of maximum reverse thrust is not permitted at airspeeds below 60 KIAS. Below 60 KIAS, reverse thrust must be reduced to idle (not above 30% N1)

Lights The taxi recog light must be switched off any time the aircraft is stationary for more than 10 minutes (AFM limitation). Note: ALL LANDING AND TAXI LIGHTS must be switched off any time the aircraft is stationary for more than 10 minutes. (SkyWest procedure) Red beacon lights are used for ground recognition purposes only and must not be used as anti-collision lights.

Fuel Takeoff with a fuel load in excess of 500 lb. in the center tank is not permitted unless each main tank is above 4,400 lb. Powered crossflow and gravity crossflow must be off for takeoff.

Fuel During flight, bulk fuel temperature should remain above the following: FUEL FREEZING POINT ASTM D 1655 JET A -40 ° C MIL T-5624 JP4 (wide cut) -58 ° C

Fuel Powered crossflow (automatic) is prohibited when using wide cut type fuel and the APU is to be operated. - If crossflow operation is required, use gravity crossflow function instead. When using JET A type fuel with ambient temperatures -30°C or below, the bulk fuel temperature prior to flight must be verified to be above -29°C.
