General requirements for tourist accommodation service In order to apply for the Eco-label the applicant needs to comply with European, national and local legal requirements. In particular shall be guaranteed that: 1.The physical structure is built legally and respects all relevant laws or regulations of the area on which it is built, especially any related to landscape and biodiversity conservation. 2. The physical structure respects the European, national and local laws and regulations, regarding energy conservation, water sources, water treatment and disposal, waste collection and disposal, maintenance and servicing of equipment, safety and health dispositions. 3. The enterprise is operational and registered, as required by national and/or local laws and its staff are legally employed and insured. Compliance with legislation 3/4

General requirements for all products groups Health, safety and other environmental requirements Products awarded the EU eco-label must also comply with the general provisions of the Regulation (EC) N° 66/2010. Article 6 of the Regulation states the general requirements of the EU Ecolabel criteria, including that the EU eco-label may not be awarded to goods containing substances or preparations/mixtures meeting the criteria for classification as toxic, hazardous to the environment, carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR), in accordance with Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008, on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, nor to goods containing substances referred to in article 57 of Regulation (EC)N ° 1907/2006, concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals ( REACH).
