Approximation of legislation to the internal market acquis An EU funded project managed by European Agency for Reconstruction Directive 89/106/EEC on Construction Products Skopje, 26.1.2005 Construction Products Directive Art. 18  Member States shall notify the Commission and the other Member States of the bodies which they have designated  The Commission shall publish in the Official Journal of the European Communities a list of the notified bodies  Certification bodies, inspection bodies and testing laboratories shall comply with the criteria laid down in Annex IV.  Member States shall indicate the products and the nature of the tasks to be assigned to them.

Approximation of legislation to the internal market acquis An EU funded project managed by European Agency for Reconstruction Directive 89/106/EEC on Construction Products Skopje, 26.1.2005 Responsibility of Member States Guidance Paper A  to ensure that the criteria set out in Annex IV of the CPD - as a minimum requirement.  Member States may consider for designation and notification only those bodies that come under their jurisdiction and which therefore are established in their territory (Guide, Section 6.1)  Should a Member State find that a body it has notified ceases to fulfil the conditions of notification, it should withdraw notification of the body (Guide, Section 6.2.2).  In case of withdrawal a Member State shall take appropriate steps to ensure that another notified body processes dossiers of the body concerned in order to ensure continuity (Guide, Section 6.2.2).  Annex E: information and conditions that Member States should check and include in the letters of designation to applicant bodies.  Annex F: standard letter of notification to the Commission (and the other Member States) that Member States should use
