Overview Presentation Marketability Product Design & Development Layout drawings

Presentation Problems/Concerns: –Unprofessional presentation –Density chart hard to read due to purple background –Face class during presentation Thoughts/Resolutions: –We had more people compliment our presentation then criticize it –Change colorings to make it easier on the eye –Spend more time practicing/preparing for the presentation

Marketability Problems/Concerns: –Limited number of times use –Cost of device compared to 2 guys with a wheel barrow –Comparison to options from landscaping co. Thoughts/Resolutions: –“Do it yourself” –Not always 2 men around –Less strain and input from/by user

Product Design & Development Choice of Design Problems/Concerns: –Why isn’t it a wheel barrow attachment? –Make it a normal cart with a rock removal attachment for increased marketability Thoughts/ Resolutions: –Need more stability and structure than a wheel barrow could give

Product Design & Development Constraints caused by variability of rocks Problems/Concerns: –Does not allow for really tall skinny rocks or unusually wide rocks –Should be able to handle a greater range of weights Thoughts/Resolutions: –Our focuses are now turned to the finer details such as these –Need to specify a strict safe working load –Suggested to make the forks adjustable with interlocking “L” brackets –Adjustable straps in “X and Y” directions –Possibly 2 sets of forks; inner and outter

Product Design & Development Complications from Lifting Problems/Concerns: –What if rock is underground? –Ratcheting system? Thoughts/Resolutions: –Add a holder for a hammer and shovel –Once the harness is around the rock and the ratchet pulls on it, the resistance of the rock will force the prongs under rock –Constant angle adjustments will be required –Lower winching point or make it adjustable

Product Design & Development User Input Problems/Concerns: –Who can use this? –What amount of force is necessary from user? Thoughts/ Resolutions: –Used by either sex –Limited user input

Product Design & Development Specific Design Concerns and Problems Problems: –Design is too tall –Use over difficult terrain –Securing rock Possible Solutions: –Extended handle or telescoping arms –Handle to help grab device –Bigger wheels or more wheels to distribute weight –Possible fold out wheels –Varying straps in both directions
