The Pack

Membership After joining a Pack, Cub Scouts are assigned to a Den based on their age group. These dens typically meet twice a month for “Den Meetings” Once a month the Den or Pack will go on a field trip, also called a “Go See It”. Once a month all of the dens and family members gather for a Pack Meeting.

Volunteer Leadership Thousands of volunteer leaders, both men and women, are involved in the Cub Scout program. The serve in a variety of positions, including unit leaders, pack committee chairmen, committee members, and chartered organization representatives. The Pack Committee is made up of all the parents of the boys in the pack and members of the charter organization.

Who Pays for Cub Scouting? The funding for the program comes from the boys, their families, the pack, the charter organization and the community. Packs earn an income by participating in fund- raisers. The community includes the United Way, Friends of Scouting and the BSA. Financial support provides leadership training, outdoor programs, service centers, and professional services.

Cub Scout Advancement Recognition is important! The advancement plan provides fun for the boys and gives them a sense of personal achievement as they earn badges. This also strengthens family understanding as the family members work with the scouts on advancement projects.
