11 These fees are subject to change at any time Annual Membership Dues New Scouts joining in September is $30 for the half year until February, when the Scouting year starts $50.00 per Cub Scout, due in February for annual dues Includes: National membership, Boys Life Magazine, Pack 516 dues, Scout handbooks, neckerchiefs, patches, belt loops, regatta boats, pinewood derby cars, space rockets, achievement pins, and other awards. Other Expenses Uniform shirt & belt (approximately $50.00) Full event uniform: pants, shirt, belt, hat, socks, $80.00 Activity uniform ($15) Activities Campouts Summer Day Camp (~$50) M-F 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM What will it Cost…

12 Budget = Popcorn We are not a selling organization We do 1 annual selling event Our popcorn sales, plus dues, are our operating funds We receive 1/3 of the revenue from what we sell We establish quotas in order to meet our budget and keep family expenses low Approx 1/3 budget dues, 2/3 budget popcorn sales We sell door to door and “Show & Sell”

13 Uniform Event Uniform (Blue Shirt) Worn for Pack Meetings Activity Uniform (Tee Shirts) Worn to activities where the event uniform may get dirty What to do with all those patches Rank badges worn on their uniform Participation badges worn on a patch vest Sports Pins The same uniform can be used throughout Cub Scouts

14 Webelos Scout Uniforms Parents and Leaders, please note that if you son is in the 1 st or 2 nd year of Webelos Scouts it is highly recommended that you purchase the BSA Tan uniform shirt. Once you have decided on what Troop your son will be going to, you can also get his troop numbers. If you have decided to cross over into Troop 516 you do not need new numbers. Troop 516 wears the Black and Red scarf, We also recommend that you get his boy Scout Hand book before cross over. You will need to meet with the Troop Scoutmaster prior to the cross over you will need to provide the following items 1.1-Boy Scout Baseball Cap 2.1-Black Scarf with Red BSA and piping. 3.1-Boy Scout Handbook –With his name in it 4.1-set of Boy Scout Shoulder Loops

15 Parent Involvement Parents/ Guardian (“Akela”) highly encouraged to participate with your son Adult Partner REQUIRED at all activities during Tiger Cub year (1 st Grade) Work with son on achievements at home- track progress Parents often help organize one den meeting or activity, or serve in a Pack leadership role

16 Next Steps Become Familiar with Cub Scouting Complete On-Line Youth Protection training Complete Application Form Excepted and approved by the Charter Organizational Representative Be Assigned to a Den Meet Den Leader and others in Den and Pack Opportunity to Participate in Upcoming Activities
