It’s our Home! Sung to the tune of “Let It Go” Written by Riverfield’s 5 th Grade class.
The sun gleams bright off the forklift today Not a four-square to be seen
Now there’s a renovation Won’t be finished ‘till we’re tweens
Machines are howling like the cries of kids in class
Don’t want a new school, No one said we asked
Don’t let them in don’t let them see, Where’s the bathroom and where’s the LMC?
Go somewhere else don’t let them build
And yet they build!
It’s our home, it’s our home Who cares if they knock down walls
It’s our home, It’s our home Bring out the wrecking balls!
I don’t care what they’re going to say Let the sea rage on My shell never bothered me anyway.
It’s funny how the portables Are suddenly now gone
And the fields that we once played in Are now turned into rocks
It’s time to see what they can do
To make this old school all brand new
New shell, new home A whole new sea YIPPEE!
It’s our home, it’s our home You will never feel alone
It’s our home, it’s our home Like a family we are known
I don’t care what they’re going to say Let the work go on…
The carnival does not take place here anymore And all the cacophony is very hard to be ignored
Yet all the boys and girls are happy to be home We know we’re welcome back So we can keep on track
It’s our home, it’s our home You will never feel alone
It’s our home, it’s our home Like a family we are known
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the builders build on…
The work never bothered us anyway.
