Writing an advertisement

What? & Where? What is an advertisement? An advertisement (or ad for short) is anything that draws good attention towards a product, service or person. Where do ads appear? Ads appear on television, as well as radio, newspapers, magazines and as billboards in streets and cities.

Advertisement media TV ads: Internet ads: Radio ads: Television advertisements (commercials, or "advert" in United Kingdom) are advertisements between television shows. They are usually for products, other television shows or movies and are normally around 30 seconds long. Internet ads: Internet advertisements (also known as a "banner ad" or "popup") are advertisements on a website. They are often still images or flash animations. The owner of the website will get money when a user clicks on the advertisement. Radio ads: Radio advertisements are audio advertisements that play between music on a radio station. They normally last 15 seconds in length.

Types of ads Job ads For sale ads Personals A job ad describes a job, including the qualifications required, job responsibilities, pay, and other benefits. For sale ads A for sale ad describes a product in a positive way and tells people how much it is. Personals Personal ads describe what you look like, what you like to do and who you would like to meet.

A job ad ABC Corporation is looking for a new marketing manager to join our team starting in September 2012. We require someone under 30 who has a BA in marketing, advertising, public relations, or a similar field. A successful applicant will be required to sell ABC products in many stores. You will be required to work long hours and dress well. The starting pay is 24 million won per year and promotions will be offered to employees who perform well. Employees will also receive medical insurance, a pension, and 10 days of paid leave per year. Please send your resume, a cover letter, and copies of your ID and degree to hr@abc.co.kr before May 15, 2012.
