Extinction! Sadly, Black Caimans are being killed for their shiny skin to make leather products. It’s been illegal to hunt black caimans for a couple of years, but that hasn’t stopped poachers from stealing their leather skin! Something sad to know is that the black caiman species has dropped by 99% in the 20 th century. That means one percent of the black caiman population are left.
