Review

Terms 6 x 6 Rule – States that each slide should have no more than six bulleted items with no more than 6 words on each bullet Contextual Spelling – Checks the spelling of a word based on how it is used in the document Demote – Decrease the level of an outline item Promote – Increase the level of an outline item

More… First-level bullet – Main paragraph in a bulleted list Layout – Predetermined way of organizing the objects on a slide including placeholders for title text and other objects Placeholder – A region of a slide, or a location in an outline, reserved for inserting text or graphics

More… Template – a file that contains colors and format of the background and the font style of the titles, accents, and sample text Thesaurus – Contains a list of words and their synonyms, antonyms, and other related words Thumbnail – Miniature images so you can see several slides at once (slide sorter view) Progressive disclosure – the technique of presenting the elements on a slide one at a time.

More….. Slide transition – the manner in which a new slide appears on the screen during a slide show. Slide pane – The area of the window that shows the current slide as it will look during the slide show

Let’s do some more… Design Theme – Feature that gives your presentation an overall design, including colors, fonts, and other design elements Slide master – The master slide that contains the objects that appear on all the slides except the title slide Handouts Master – The master slide that contains all the objects that appear on printed handouts SmartArt – a command that automatically converts a bulleted list to a diagram

Again… Notes Master – The master slide that contains the objects that appear on the notes page Cell bevel – A three dimensional effect on the edges of a cell Adjustment handle – a handle that lets you change the shape of an object without changing its size Picture style – a special effect such as a border or reflection that is applied to a picture on a slide.

Keep going… Pixels – Colored dots combined with other dots to form a picture or graphic display Rotate Handles – The small green circle above an object that you can drag to rotate the object Process diagram – A diagram that shows a step by step procedure

Look these up in your book!!! How do you draw a shape, such as a rectangle or a circle on a slide? How do you rotate or flip an object? How do you add a table to a slide? How do you move text up while using the outline tab? How do you insert a left tab stop on the ruler? This is a general question – not PowerPoint
