A Seed Story Plants come from seeds. Each seed contains a tiny plant waiting for the right conditions to Germinate, which means, begin to grow. Inside of a kidney bean

What Do Kidney Bean Seeds Need to Grow What Do Kidney Bean Seeds Need to Grow? Seeds wait to germinate until three needs are met: Energy from the Sun Air (carbon-di-oxide) Water

In the beginning, the kidney bean seedling depends on the food stored in the seed. Leaf Food Stem

Once the seed grows its own leaves, the seedling begins to make food through a process called photosynthesis. Leaves Stem Roots The roots push down and supply water to the plant. The stem and the new leaves push up toward the light:

Plants make their own food by using light energy from the sun, water from the soil and carbon-di-oxide from the air. This is called photosynthesis.

When the Kidney bean plant is big enough it will produce flowers… and when the bee brings pollen..

..it will pollinate the flowers and turn them into pods that contain seeds.. ..and we will have more kidney beans to plant or enjoy as a meal!!

Trees and other green plants are like food factories Trees and other green plants are like food factories. They use photosynthesis to make the food they need to grow and reproduce. Without them, human beings and animals would be without a food source.
