Agenda Friday (Summary) Slot 1: General meeting / WP3.1 + WP3.2 (events) [9-10:30] Future of Kweb education area beyond 2007? –EASE academy –Continue summer school? (financing without EU funding…) –REASE platform WP3.1: How to fill EASE with life? REASE: improvements (SWTHv2), new features, more content –Contact industry board? –SWTHv2: Integration with roadmap wiki WP3.2: Industrial events: ESTC07, more? Tutorials? KWEPSY2007 Slot 2: WP3.2 meeting (shared master) [10-12:30] More students, more advertisement Remaining paperwork? Additional members? Slot 3+4: WP3.3 [12:30-13:00], [14:00-15:00] Final ASPL version (delivered as?), integration of services Connection with REASE Final evaluation

General Meeting Continuation of activities –REASE: ensured by EASE association But unfortunately no project to continue REASE in sight currently (more desirable) –EASE academy –Summer school Ongoing negotiations Better connection with industry area –Integration of roadmap and topic hierarchy ongoing –Additional ideas?

Review comments (1) Main comment from the review: “In the Education area, the efforts should be continued to target the industrial sector. In particular, the industrial board should be more involved in determining which material the industry needs to adopting semantic web technologies. Once this determined a call to the community at large in search for this material could be realized.” Planned actions: –Ask panelists of the MSWFB –Contact OOA people

Review comments (2) Further ideas: 1) [Jerome] Increasing the number of industrial courses by adding courses offered by 'professional' providers to REASE as event announcements (i.e., without putting the material itself, which professional providers won't do) --> this is what I have already done for the Semantic Web School Austria, but I'm lacking other professional providers to ask  suggestions? 2) [Jerome] Asking the OOA people to look at REASE and find out what is missing --> Diana has contacted OOA people, waiting for a response

Review comments (3) 3) [Lyndon] Link IB people with use cases and tell them about REASE. Then ask them, if they found useful material / what is missing. 4) [Lyndon] Organize a panel on an industrial event with strong industry participation (ESTC) to discuss what educational material is missing in general  ongoing --> to make this related to REASE, panel participants have to take a look at REASE before; but anyway good to get some general statements about 'missing material for industrial SW education'. 5) [EnricoM] Organizing a one-day workshop instead of a panel to have more time for discussion. --> again, to make this related to REASE, the participants have to take a look at REASE before they start to discuss... Also this is the solution with the highest efforts.  discontinued

WP3.1 How to fill EASE with life? –Invite new members once we are registered –EASE web page: improvements? EASE ontology? SWTH: Version 2 online since quite a while –To be looked at within REWERSE, then finish  Integrate with REASE + KWTR REASE improvements: –New version of topic hierarchy, interconnect –Some more new features Usage-based drop-down lists, semantic search?, full-text search –And the usual: more content From Semantics2006 soon, from SWS one example unit, from ESTC2007, from ESWC2007 (hopefully videos), Summer school More?

WP3.2: Industry-education events MSWFB Panel –Ask participants few questions: What educational material essential for moving SW to industry? Topics, types (tutorials, programming guides,…) –Additional plans for tutorials? Technology –How to get feedback from the participants? REASE presentation + questionnaire for audience workshop ‘FIRST’, co-chair for the in-use track

WP3.2 industry events Questionnaire –Show topic hierarchy, ask ‘mark those five areas where you think there is the most demand in learning material’ + ‘mark those five areas where you think insufficient material is available’

WP3.2: “academic” events Summer school 2007 KWEPSY 2007 –Low participation of mentors currently… –Suggestions?
