Building a Strong Family!

Hebrews 10:19-25 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart…

…and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful…

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another —and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Joshua. 24:15 “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord”

What makes families strong? 1. A Strong Sense of COMMITMENT. 2. Strong families have COMMUNION. 3. They value better COMMUNICATION. 4. They are Strong in CONSECRATION.

1. Strong Families have A Strong Sense of COMMITMENT.

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful”

2. Strong families have COMMUNION (Dictionary: Intimate communication, sharing, having things in common)

Hebrews 10:25 “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another”

In a survey, 1,500 children were asked, What makes families happy? Over 90% gave the same answer. It wasn’t a big house or lots of money…it was “doing things together”.

Time with family says to them, You are a priority, I love you! There’s no substitute for time spent together.

3. They value better COMMUNICATION.

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,”

7 “B’s” of good listening: 1. Be observant. 2. Be available. 3. Be considerate. 4. Be demonstrative. 5. Be wise. 6. Be an example. 7. Be courageous.

4. They are Strong in CONSECRATION. (Dictionary: Dedication, Service, and Worship of God)
