The Tabernacle Sacrifices 1)The tabernacle had two main rooms that were divided by a large heavy curtain. 2)The second room was known as the Holy of Holies or the Most Holy Place. 3)The priests would regularly go into the first room but Not into the second room. 4)Only the High Priest could go into the Holy of Holies and only once a year and he had to do so with blood.

4. Results of the Tabernacle Sacrifices 1)It showed that the way into the holy place of God had not yet been opened. 2)It showed that the conscience of the worshipper was not yet cleansed and purified. 3)It showed there were sins that remained uncovered because the High Priest would have to do this every year.

5. The Finished Work of Christ 1) Only Christ himself was able to go to heaven itself, to the very presence of God.

6. The Finished Work of Christ 2) Only Christ could remove the barrier that existed between God and humanity.

7. The Finished Work of Christ 3) Only Christ entered the Holy of Holies - not by the blood of animals but by his very own blood.

8. The Finished Work of Christ 4) Only Christ’s voluntary death was a single sacrifice for all time – never having to be repeated.

9. The Finished Work of Christ 5) Only Christ’s death was a sacrifice to specifically atone for the sins of those who trust in him alone for the forgiveness of their sins.

10. The Finished Work of Christ 6) Only through Christ’s work on our behalf can our consciences be cleansed and purified.

11. Draw Near to God Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:19-22
