Ethanol Definition: a biofuel, alternative to gasoline made from the conversion of carbon based feedstock; such as corn and sugar cane.

Accessibility  Ethanol is widely used in Brazil at the moment. It’s a renewable source; meaning ethanol is generated from natural resources. It’s not possible for the fuel to “run out”. In other words, it’s fairly simple to create this fuel.

Description  What does it look like? It’s a clear liquid.  Ethanol fuel is made of plants, mainly sugar cane or corn. Sugar CaneCorn

Environmental Effects  Short Term: Using ethanol fuel will create more jobs, someone has to harvest the feedstock to produce the fuel. Domestic farmers would be in high command. Which also means less farmland for actual food crops for humans.  Long Term: With ethanol, the greater fuel efficiency will help lower the costs of an ethanol fuel future. Ethanol is also a high-performance motor fuel that cuts poisonous exhaust emissions and is better for the environment.

What It Requires  Ethanol doesn’t require a specific car used to burn the fuel. But it does require a specially modified engine to burn the bio-fuel.

Past  Ethanol fuel is available now. Like I’ve already said; it’s widely used on Brazil.  1896 Henry Ford built his first automobile, the quadricycle, to run on pure ethanol.

My Opinion  Overall, I think it would be better for the world to switch to ethanol instead of using gasoline. First off, it’s a lot better for the environment. Also, it’s a renewable source, (which already stated) unlike the gasoline used by most today.
