Braque was born in 1882 in France Braque, like Picasso, gained his initial art influence through his father. In 1900 Braque moved to Paris to study the famous works of the Fauve artists. Included in these fauve artists was Cezanne, whose work later inspired Cubism. After fighting in World War I, Braque’s style was as it would stay the rest of his life. Braque died in 1963

Cubism was a movement that wanted to show all the angles of an object. Cubism was made to reject all past ideas of perspective and space.

French painter Paul Cezanne was said to have been a major influence in the Cubist works created by Picasso and Braque when cubism was being born. Cezanne’s simple and flattened forms most likely lead Picasso and Braque to take this art form to an all new movement of modern art.

Cubism was a movement in two phases The 1 st Phase was the Analytical Phase, and the Second was the Synthetic Phase

Analytical Cubism lasted until 1912 Analytical Cubism emphasized not making objects 3-D and merging objects and their environments together.

In Analytical Cubism Objects were taken apart and put back together out of perspective to created the bizarre images.

Synthetic Cubism emphasized the use of collages and combining different styles and materials into one painting.

Other famous Cubists include Fernand Leger and Juan Gris
