They may combine this with other subjects in a large binder, or they may choose to have a separate binder/folder/spiral for history. We will use these notebooks for all classroom notes, activities and reviews. This will be a GREAT study tool throughout the year! Make-up & Late Work- It is the student’s responsibility to pick up and complete make-up work in a timely fashion. Students should obtain make-up work before or after class. Texas History will follow the MISD district policy for late work and absences. Grading Policy- Formative 30% (Ex. Daily class work, Homework, Quizzes, Class participation) Summative70% (Ex. Tests, Projects, Essays) In this course, you will identify and learn about the major eras in Texas history beginning with Natural Texas and its People and continuing on to Contemporary Texas. You will learn about the people, events, and issues that have shaped-and continue to shape-the state of Texas. You will examine the basic principles that serve as the foundation of the Texas Constitution and the Texas Bill of Rights. You will learn that, as citizens, we are free to exercise our rights. In return, we are expected to fulfill certain responsibilities.
