Child Labour Assessment Task

You are a researcher for the International Labour Organisation. You have been asked to write a report describing child labour around the world and explaining how to reduce child labour. Title: Child Labour in 2013 The Brief

In your report you must include: Examples and evidence taken from your class notes about different types of jobs children are involved in. Causes of child labour. Consequences of child labour. Ways of helping children who work.

Evaluating your report: Third Level Interpret evidence and present an informed view. Describe the impact of inequality and poverty on children Describe the work of the ILO. Fourth Level Analyse conflicting viewpoints. Evaluate how effective the ILO is.

Structure of the report You should break up your report into sections, each with their own heading. 1. Introduction 2. Child Labour around the world In this section describe types of work, countries affected and reasons for child labour. 3. Reducing child labour. In this section explain how different organisations try to reduce child labour and comment on how effective they are. 4. Conclusion

Presenting your work You should write a draft version of your report in your jotter and then write up a good copy to hand in on paper. Remember to check your work for spelling, grammar and punctuation!
